What Do You Think? 300...250?

Extra bonus points if you can tell me what commercial I took my title from! And if you don't watch TV then this is one of those times when you wish you had because who can ever guess it wins a million dollars!(disclaimer:no one will win a million dollars...at least from me.)

So I just need some help from all you intelligent people out there. Do you have life insurance?

I want to be responsible and get personal life insurance for all 3 of us but I just don't know who to trust, what to choose, how much to pay, what term is best...blah blah blah.

So...if you have life insurance and would like to recommend anything to me PLEASE DO!

I am not talking about employer benefits...that does me no good because I don't work for your employer (really?) I just need personal...do it yourself ideas. I especially want to know if anyone has experience with Gerber Life.

Thanks!

WELL..I would like to have insurance on all of us-well me or nate. I think my parents have only ever had insurance on themselves not the kids.... We do have insurance through State Farm (Nate's Aunt is an agent).
So yeah, sorry no advice, but that is what we have.

I am so clueless..I'm hoping someone will give you a good run-down, so I can learn too!

And I have no idea what that commercial is... I've watched TV every night..what's the deal?!

Let me ask Dave. He is the only one in our family who has life insurance, but I suppose that's because he's the only one making any money--so technically he's the most valuable one! heehee

You want life insurance or health insurance? I don't think Carter qualifies for Life insurance. But I don't know because I have neither of those things. Health insurance is totally not worth it because anything I can afford has a $6000 deductible, and I don't plan on having any major problems anytime soon :)

Cory and I have life insurance. His parents kicked us in the butt to get some and we finally did right before Kallon was born. Its not too bad, just a lot of info and choices. I'm not sure who Cory's is through at the moment but I am insured through New York Life. I have a 100,000 policy for $109.00 a year. Not too shabby. I 'm pretty sure you could just look them up on the internet to find an agent in your area! I hope this helps-good luck!

I have seen that commercial where that girl goes around asking everybody how big her deductible should be, but I can't remember what company it is.

Dad and I both have life insurance. More than likely, you will want a term life insurance policy because that is the most affordable. It differs from whole life insurance because you don't get anything back from it. Whole life insurance will give you some back after you reach a certain age, but it is much more expensive. Compare rates with reputable companies like State Farm, Met LIfe, Travelers, American Family, etc. You really don't need life insurance for Carter, just for you and Josh.

State Farm! Okay, so I cheated a little, because the comment above me jogged my memory.

We get life insurance through our general insurance provider who also covers our auto and renters insurance. We don't have insurance for the kids yet, but we've thought about it. I hate to even type it, because it's too horrible to even consider, but a small policy on a child isn't a bad idea. It could help cover an emotionally and financially difficult funeral.

We also have life insurance, but I can't remember what we chose. It was before kids came along! The insurance lady helped walk us through it--it seemed to take forever, but it's a relief to have it done. Good luck on deciding!

Um, so I watch WAY to much TV...I wish I was one of those people that could say "Oh, I dont have time to watch tv" but the truth is ...I have lots of time. So, I know that it is a girl that is asking people how much is too much to pay for something...what is it...car insurance...health insurance...it is the commerical where they are standing on the red dot and say...'I am so there'- she asks the author and then the butcher- I think, and then she is in a yoga class....woe, I am a nerd and really pathetic. But if it makes it better, I really have no idea what company the commerical is for- I just know of it. DOes that make it better? And do I still win the MILLION??!!!

Lance and I have insurance through Foresters and they are fantastic with a lot of great benefits of which I couldn't tell you because it's been so long since I've looked at our policies. We pay $30 every quarter for $100,000 on each of us. All the different terms and jargon - I'm clueless!! I wish there was an insurance dictionary or something to dumb it down because I'm an idiot when it comes to understanding ANY kind of insurance.

We both have life insurance, even though I don't work. We have enough that if only one of us dies, the other can afford to lie in a cave for a year or so before we have to get back to breathing. And if we both go, the kids will have way more money than if we live. Having had a parent die with life insurance, however, I will assure you that the trade is not worth it.
