*LaUrA*: Josh and I met in 1998. We dated some in high school and became best friends! In February 2002 Josh asked me to spend eternity with him. I said sure. We married August 2002 and now have 2 boys. Carter is 7 and Cannon is 2 months old and counting! These are the adventures of my life...in La La Land.

08/05/2010 "Dear Heavenly Father, please keep our house clean..." I couldn't quite stifle the laughter on that one.
10/08/09 A couple weeks ago Carter all of the sudden spiked a fever. He was really whiny and just not feeling well. I told him that he had a fever and that he needed to drink his medicine to make the fever go away. The next day after feeling much better he decided he needed another sip of the yummy flavored medicine....he came up to me and said, "Oh mom...my beaver is back and I need some grape medicine to make the beaver go away"
09/26/09 Today Carter's great-grandma asked him where he got such pretty eyelashes from. Carter's immediate response was, " I got them at Wal-Mart!" ...it gave us a ll a good laugh.
08/27/09 Carter was upset at me for not giving into his every whim and exclaimed, "I don't like you anymore Mommy! I'm getting outta here!" He then opened the door and began to leave. Realizing he was only in his undies brought him back to his good sense. Good thing I have a modest kid or else I would have a runaway on my hands. ;)
05/05/2009 Carter was holding some markers up to his face to make a mustache and he put them right beneath his eyes and he said, "Look Mom...what is this? An eye beard?"
01/08/2009 This morning Carter got in bed with me to snuggle and Josh told him to give me a kiss on the lips (which is very rare) and he did...he then cringed back and said "eeeeew stinky!" and I started laughing and he stopped and looked at me very seriously and said "No Mommy, that isn't funny, it is really gross" Luckily I understand morning breath and was not offended by my son's bluntness. I actually feel bad for him because I had onions in my dinner last night...it was was probably really horrible for him! heehee!
12/08/2008 this isn't funny...but today Carter was being such a good helper and putting canned food away in the cupboard for me. Well...all good things must end because he dropped a can on his biig toe. It immediately turned red and purple and the nail filled with blood. The poor boy cried for an hour straight until he fell alseep. Why do things like this have to happen! he was being such a good boy and a good helper! Love you Carter!
10/2008 Just recently we introduced Carter to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Now the past couple of days I have had requests from Carter for a "Jellyfish Sandwich"...or I will ask what he is eating and he will simply say "a Jellyfish sandwich"....it is cute!
09/2008 Wanted make a quick note beforeI forget. At Carter's well-check up they said everything looked good! He was a little above the 50th percentile for height and just a little below 5oth for weight. So he is right in the middle...which isn't a bad place to be. If I remember correctly he weighed 27 lbs...I wish I could remember how tall he was. The doctors were surprised at how verbal he is and how well he expresses himself with words. He didn't stop talking the entire time. They say we have a smart kid on our hands...I say "I already knew that!";)
09/29/08 Carter came up to me today and said "Mom, you are so smart!" and then went about his business...he is my little self-esteem booster! cute kid.
09/01/2008 In the past couple of weeks Carter has decided that "Mom" and "Dad" are rather boring names and has given us some new ones. One day Carter was talking to Josh and instead of saying "Daddy" or "Josh" he yelled out a demand to "Chowder"..I laughed and laughed and that name has stuck. He will often ask me where Chowder is or give demands to Josh using that name. When we ask Carter what his name is, his reply is more often than not "Tookie Tookie"...he gives the same response to inquiring strangers as well. Josh then told Carter that Mommy needed a nickname and Carter has taken to calling me Carly...after iCarly...yeah I am just as stumped on that one.
08/25/2008 Today Carter asked for something and I replied " Nope, you can't have that" To which Carter responded, "Why Mom?...because?" and I said "Exactly, Carter...because." It put a smile on my face. Is this kid really only 26 months?
07/30/2008 Today we were at the library for story time and the lady read the last words and closed the book and Carter clapped his hands together and said "AMEN!"
