Are You Ready to Rock!?!?!

PLEASE HELP ME...no don't click out...I said please help me...hey you...yeah YOU...the one about to skip to the next blog...yeah that is right...I've got your number...but this time will you just hear me out?

Carter's 4th birthday is coming up. He is VERY excited and we talk about it daily. He wants to have a Rock Star Birthday party...because he's cool like that.

Carter has never had a big party...the past 2 birthdays were just the 3 of us...so this year we are going BIGger.

Can you please all rack your brains and spill out any and all ideas that you have that might contribute to having the best Rock Star birthday party ever?! Any and all suggestions will be absolutely cherished and you will receive numerous blessings upon your heads (this statement has not be evaluated by the FDA).

So Far: guests will get microphones and inflatable guitars

AND....that's all I've got...

So help a mother out...you know I would do the same for you! Ready...Go!

I think that is the coolest theme ever and I wish I would have thought of it first. Don't be surprised if we copy in the next couple of years. I'll be thinking of ideas for you...

Hmm, I'm not sure, but I'll come back if I see or think of something.

Sounds awesome. Here are some ideas:

Party favors: You can use all those plastic Easter eggs and make plastic egg shakers (filled with rice and glued together) for the back up singers:)

Instead of pin the tail on the donkey: pin the pegs on the guitar.

Play the cakewalk game but with rock music. Instead of having the kids walking around on numbers use famous rock band names or the notes of the musical scale.

There has to be some way to incorporate the whammy bar into a game or treat.... Instead of ice cream bars call them Whammy Bars!

Sorry I just got done playing Beatles Rockband at a friend’s house. I am in a rockin mood;)

*Guitar Hero for sure, if you have it/can get it.
*Cool, crazy-colored rocker wigs.
*Dry ice in the punch.
*Tickets for the invitations.
*A "mosh pit": dancing with music.
*Make guitars out of cardboard and let them decorate with markers, glitter, paint, etc. Glue on yarn for strings.

I'll let you know if anything else comes to mind. :-)

I'd like to see pictures of all the neighborhood four year olds in KISS makeup. Could you get right on that, please?

Seriously, I'd ask the kids to come in rock star costumes. Isaac was Billy Idol at his request (demand) a few years ago. It was awesome. We got a leather jacket from a thrift store and used a lot of gel and a blow dryer and he got to wear torn up jeans. BEST DAY EVER!

I would caution that with rock star garb comes rock star attitude, so I'd limit the number of guests or make sure you have extra adults around. You don't want anyone throwing a tv off your balcony. ;)

Google these five words:

KIDS ROCK STAR BIRTHDAY PARTY!

I couldn't live without Google or copying other creative mom's ideas!! It's going to be fun no matter what--remember...YOU'RE HIS MOM! FUN IS IN YOUR TITLE!!

Although I will say that I think Musical chairs would be a hit, along with kereokee maybe??

Can't wait to hear and read all about it!! Make sure the camera is charged (we failed to do so on Lexi's 1ST birthday party!)

GOOD LUCK!!

A vote for karokee. It seems like most kids just LOOOOVE being on stage.

This is when Rock Band would come in handy or a Cariokee Machine (wow, spelling). The other ideas sound so good. What else is there really. Face Paint sounded like a good idea to me, whatever, to all the moms booing that one.

Cool party idea....can't wait to see pics.

Oh wow those are some awesome ideas.. Jackson has been begging to be a "rock star" He tells me hes going to have a rock star party all the time. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Hmmm as for ideas you already got some awesome ones. But one that I was thinking of was a guitar pinata. I know oriental trading sales those blow up guitars but to keep it on a budget maybe check out the dollar store. A fun treat pop rocks, then maybe some fake tatoos, they also make bubbles that come in guitar shapes. Thats all I got for now.

WOW I can't believe he'll be 4. I will think of some ideas but looks like Jenete already thought of everything.
