Tradition!

Traaaditiiioooon! Tradition!

So every year, like many others out there, Josh and I get each other a new ornament. We usually exchange them around Thanksgiving, this year was no exception. There are no rules to the game really, some years we are funny, others sentimental. We do say, however, that the ornament should in some way reflect the person we are giving it to...whether that be an important event that may have happened that year or a personality quirk.

I really like the one Josh gave me this year. It is a reflection of spending a great year as a family of 3...I also like it because Carter often walks in the middle of us and we swing him just like the baby penguin is being swung.

This year I opted for funny...fowl-age has become somewhat of a "gag" theme to our ornament gift giving...or as Carter has been singing incessantly the past few weeks "Bird, bird, bird, bird is the word" It all started a few years back when Josh gave me a bird ornament that I think he thought was a great choice for me...I thought otherwise and teased him about it and it now has become a joke. So this year I gave Josh the above beauty...isn't she gorgeous!;)

This year Carter got Elmo...he sure enjoys that squeaky-voiced ball of fur. Grover came along in the package too...I am not sure what Grover is up to in this picture..no good I'm sure.

And last but not least this is the ornament I received at our ward ornament exchange. I think it is grand!

That's a fun little tradition! What a cute little family you are. We missed you guys at Christmas. I hope the rest of your day was grand and wonderful. Also, I am so relieved that Carters ear is kernel free. Good job, Josh! You are awesome!
