A Fun Saturday

Saturday was the annual "May Fair" in my quaint little town...it really is a nice little town. On this day they block off the streets to the town square and people set up booths all along the streets and sell their stuff. It was almost like walking through the Etsy website...only in person. There were a lot of booths that were very similar with the crafts and handmade items that are all the rage right now...such a pillowcase dresses, hair bows, magnetic boards, decorated tiles,tutus...and jewelry, jewelry, jewelry, etc. If I had a little girl I would have blown through money very quickly...luckily not many people make a lot of crafts geared towards little boys.

And what would the fair be without a Scentsy booth? I finally joined the rest of the world and got myself a warmer and some bars to try. I LOVE "red delicious"...mmmmmm!!! I have always been an "apple" scent fan and this one does not disappoint at all. I also got "Welcome Home" which is right up my alley as well (but did get a little too potent after a while) and I ordered "Autumn Sunset" which I will get in a week or so. The warmer I got is called "Boelyn"...I think. It is black and cream and goes perfect with our living room ensemble. So I want to know what your favorite Scentsy smells are...I pretty sure I am the last one to try it and know a lot of you are seasoned users...so let me know!

After enjoying the sunshine with a nice cool breeze and walking around the square we decided not to end the fun and head up to Southaven to the movies. We do not have a theater in our town...which I actually like :) When we got there Carter was asleep so we decided to tote him in and pick a movie WE wanted to see rather than cater to him...like always. We picked Star Trek...it was really good. I have never been a Star Trek fan and don't really know much about it...but I really enjoyed it...the parts I saw...because of course Carter didn't sleep through it and we had to take potty breaks and I missed quite a bit.

Afterwards I told Josh I wanted to stay and watch another movie since I was on babysitting duty through the first one...and he obliged... it was really funny though because we were standing out in the hallway trying to decide what we wanted to do and we asked Carter, "Do you want to stay and watch another movie or do you want to go home? Mommy is going to stay and watch another movie...do you want to stay or go home for a while?" Carter was listening intently and then shrugged his shoulders and lifted his hands and said, "Well I can't drive!!" I laughed so hard that in his cute little brain he thought we were asking him if he wanted to just go ahead and take the car home and come back and get us later...ahahaha...you had to be there and see his expression...it really was the comment of the year for me.

Let me just save you all some time and money and tell you not to go see "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past". I know...I should have known from the title. During the show I was imaginging myself spray painting "Worst Movie Ever" across the screen in red paint. Ugh...I hated Matthew McConaughey's character...actually none of the characters were with getting to know. So don't waste your time. And if you have seen it and loved it...as I heard a group of girls exclaiming as they were walking out of the theater...then don't take it personal. I am not one of those people who get offended when someone doesn't like the same books or movies as I do...so I speak my opinion clearly. I also don't judge people much for their choice in movies...but I might ask you "Really? You have got to be kidding!!"...which was my silent spoken response to the girls coming out of the theater. Ugh UGH!...luckily I didn't have to pay for that movie. Once you pay for one ticket you are back in the hallways with all the theaters...and since I never exited they don't check for tickets...so I just went in to another movie...if this is wrong don't tell me. :)

Well that is all...I just felt like writing about our easy going, fun Saturday. I am trying to do better writing simple memories like this for when I make this thing into a book. It may seem so ordinary but I know I will love reading back over these times in the future. Hope you are all well...tell me about your fav. scents and also if you have seen any good movies lately.

Hi there!
I love posts that take a poll...fun!
Scentsy has so many flavors, I can't say which is my favorite, but I like light fruity ones, and some of the bakery smells are delicious.

Last night, Dave and I watched "Last Chance Harvey." It should have been amazing, but it was only okay.

Laura, I also saw Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and LOVED IT. I am kidding. It was the worst movie ever. I was sick after I saw it, that is how much I hated it! =) I thought 17 Again was good but I wasn't expecting much so that may have contributed. And don't worry, I don't have a Scentsy yet so you are not the last one...

I love your stories about Carter, and this one really cracked me up. So funny.

I love "Red Delicious" too, but my very favorite Scentsy is "Lots of Lavender." It's wonderful! It's sweeter than most lavender scents, but definitely not too sweet. It has a hint of the tartness that I like in apple scents.

I've always been a Salt City candle fan myself, but I've heard the Scentsy ones are great. I love floral scents like lavender and lilac, usually.

I'd like to see "17 Again." I like Matthew Perry and it looks cute. Nothing else really seems like it's worth seeing these days!

Thanks for the movie tip. I hate wasting time on terrible movies. We watched Doubt. I won't say if it's good or bad..I'm not that sure myself. But the acting is incredible. Oh, I think I saw a worse movie..Brideshead Revisited..Seriously shoot me! Argh..Anyway, um..right now I love Wasabi Ginger. Red Delicious sounds wonderful.

I love that story about Carter, I wish I could have seen him say it!

What a cutie Carter...aren't kids hillarious? I too haven't gotten into the whole Scentsy fad...probably because I'd spend way too much. When I find something I like I tend to go a little overboard :) Also, I absolutely hated that movie too! I wanted to knock some sense into his character...such a tool in that movie. 17 Again was really cute I thought...go see that one!

I need to walk around with a tape recorder, I swear, because I just love the things that come out of Jonah's mouth and wish I remembered to write them all down.

I've not tried the Scentsy thing yet, but I am not a huge candle person. Most scents give me a headache and what few I like, I can't justfy buying often. Oh well, I guess I won't be in the cool Scentsy Circe :-)

I think I go see a movie in the theaters about once, maybe twice, a year. Most are a waste of time and money (in my opinion) so I'd just as soon wait and rent them on Netflix. That way I can take as many breaks as I want AND wear my jammies while watching it. I heard horrible reviews of that "girfriend" movie. I may, out of obligation, have to rent it once it is on Netflix. An old friend of mine from high school is in the first 5 minutes of the movie (her first movie as more than an extra). I am so not paying $10 to see it though. :-)

A friend and I went to see Ghosts of Girlfriends Past last weekend, and I was disappointed too. I have a not-so-secret crush on Matthew McConaughey (Sahara? {{{shivers with delight}}}) but I didn't like this one. His character was skeevy and I hate to admit this, but my boy Matt is looking old. I'm also sick of brides acting like tyrants on their wedding days. Besides, I hate that there wasn't a back story on why the bride and groom were really in love. All we saw was how she behaved poorly and he was a nice guy about it. Aaaaaaannnnddd, while I'm worked up, just because you slept with some guy you met in a bar (on a plane, at a wedding) it does not make him your boyfriend for 26 minutes. Gah.

Oh Carter... that is so funny! That is seriously so sweet. And I am not a scentsy owner either. Boo. Let me know if you like them. And As far as your b-day gift for Josh I say go to Africa! That would be a little scary...I do agree! And what is with movies these days? The last 4 of 5 I have seen have really not been good. Thanks for the tip on the movie guess I won't see it after all. And i have never seen a sign that says you must exit when your movie is over. Never :)

Ahh, to go to a movie-- what would it be like???? I don't remember! Just kidding- sort of! Thanks for the advice and I loved what Carter said! That's too funny! oh, and since I don't use sentsy -- I can't tell you my favorite-- maybe one day I will join the rest of the world to!

Hahahahaha Carter is so funny! I just love him!

Kathy gave us a scentsy warmer (which was totally generous of her...too kind, too kind) and we have pumpkin spice which is great in the fall/winter and watermelon which is great for spring and summer. I want to look into "red delicious" since I love apple scents and also that used to be my nickname. Remember? :)

As for movies, I have seen Star Trek and Wolverine and both were awesome! And I don't have a clue about Star Trek history and stuff. But before that the last movie we saw was Underworld 3. So we don't get out much to the movies because, let's face it, most of them suck. I'm glad you didn't pay for it.

Now we will be going to see Terminator some time. Ya know, for old time's sake.

hum where to start, I got to think of all the things I wanted to say...I'm sad that the movie wasn't great- I was excited to see!
I LOVE small towns and their saturday festivals. LOVE it. I hope to find one for me one day...maybe it will be twin :) OH and man, so jealous...I wanted that boelyn scentsy. I saw that is was on sale a couple months ago and almost broke down and bought it. I have a wall plug though, and love it. so until I have a better excuse to spend money I don't have on something I don't need I will have to wait. but have you know-- I am jealous.

"It was almost like walking through the Etsy website...only in person".....that sounds like HEAVEN! I wish that I could have been there, and I would have definitely blown all my money on cute girly things!

I don't have a Scentsy warmer, but I bought the bar and just melt it in a mug on my hot cocoa warmer--works great! My favorite scent is Spiced Orange Harvest, and I also liked the Grapefruit Blossom. I'm a fruity kind of girl :)

Thanks for the tip on that movie. I am one of those people who will not go see a movie if I'm told it sucks so I'm glad you posted that so I don't waste any money on it!

Also, thanks so much for your comment and concern for our family. You're awesome to offer help of any kind. The problem is while the little guy is in the NICU I haven't known what I need myself. I only know I need a carseat before we take him home. We have one picked out, but are just waiting to buy it cause he'll be here for quite a while. Anyway, if I think of something though I will be sure to let you know.

LAURITA, LAURITA! Please post more often! This is so funny, especially what Carter said (what a cute kid!) and the part where you said, "if this is wrong don't tell me!" It's actually a GENIUS idea!! YOU GO GIRL! (snap! snap! snap!) I"m all about getting the biggest bang for the buck!

Bummer to hear about the girlfriend movie being so horrible, but thanks for saving me some mulah! We recently rented the movie "TAKEN"--i THOUGHT it was a great movie, one that keeps you on the edge of your seat. A couple creepy parts, but pretty good. If you watched it or already have, let me know what you think!

Maybe we should all post a movie blog of what is a must see or don't waste your time list of movies we've seen....I know I'm missing out on some good movies.

Okay, I am now about to end the world's longest comment.........sorry for babbling! But really, please post more!
